The Master Governance and International Relations Programme is a high breed course that provides a detailed understanding of the nature of the contemporary governance and international relations agenda. It is designed to trace the origins, theoretical foundations and future trajectory of governance and international relations for peaceful co-existence of states in the international system. It examines theories of governance and international relations along with issues that have dominated governance, peace, security and diplomatic discourse in the post-Cold War era with direct impact on citizens, among others.
A Bachelor’s degree (second class and above) or its equivalent from a recognised University. Applicants with lower qualifications must satisfy the Senate that they have acquired academic growth by evidence of research and publications.
In some programmes, a qualifying course followed by an examination may be given.

The Master of Governance and International Relations is a two year programme. The first year is basically taught and the second year is for practicum and research.
The programme will be taught in a modular form in a blended format. The aspects that will be taught online are the course units that require guideline for students own engagement, those which will be taught face-to-face are the introductory part during each module.
Among what will be covered include areas of; International Relations and Diplomatic Practice, Conflict and Peace Studies, Intelligence and Security Studies.
