Requirements

Direct Entry
A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes.
A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 1 principle pass and 2 subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
UCU foundation or bridging course results with 2.0 GPA and above.
International Applicants must have qualifications equivalent to 1 or 2 above and would be subjected to a foundation or bridging course approved by NCHE.
The Mature Age/Special Entry
Candidate for the Mature Age/Special Entry scheme must be Ugandan nationals of at least 22 years and have had formal education. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination are then considered for admission.

Programme Duration

The Diploma in Social Work programme is a 3-year full-time day programme with Six semesters of study.

Describe different situational and societal contexts that affect people who are socially, culturally, economically and politically marginalized.

Discuss proactive approaches to managing undesirable social and environmental situations.

Explain efficient and effective leadership aspects in human service agencies.

Discuss cultural diversity in practice with individuals, groups and communities.

Interpret social welfare legislations and policies and their implications while serving different populations.
